Tunza Foundation is a Tanzania-registered non-profit working at the intersection of environmental conservation and public health. We design and implement community-driven programs that improve livelihoods, reduce environmental risk, and promote sustainable development across the Kilimanjaro Region.

Our youth-led model empowers local volunteers and champions — giving communities ownership over their environment while delivering measurable outcomes aligned with national and international development frameworks.

Case Study

Rau Forest Restoration

In Rau Forest, Tunza Foundation mobilized 200 community volunteers across eight cleanup interventions, removing over 2,500 kg of waste and significantly improving sanitation and public health conditions in this critical green space.

The campaign combined environmental awareness sessions with hands-on cleanup, demonstrating how community engagement creates lasting behavior change — a 60% reduction in littering observed in areas with our awareness programs.
